SEP 1 - SECOND STREET PROMENADE ( 2ND ST BETWEEN BROADWAY & SYCAMORE - DTSA )

Carlos Alfonso DeRosa was one of the founders of the Santora Drum Circle, starting in 1998.
For years this was the entertainment on the promenade on the First Saturday of the month event. This week he died of a heart attack.

The drum circle led by Higgy Vasquez, son of Emigdio Vasquez, well known Santa Ana muralist/artist, will take place in his memory at the September 1st Art Walk.

They will start at 5:30pm at the far end of the promenade on Second Street & Sycamore. They will end the drumming by 6:30 - just before the OC Film Fiesta begins.

Carlos Alfonso DeRosa was a member of the Chicano Poets Society, a member of Los Amigos, and a participant in the early days of the Artist Village.
He worked long hours at the ER and learned drumming from Higgy Vasquez. He turned around and offered workshops for the kids at the learning center in Santa Ana.
He loved photography.
